Our Story
From the forests of the Pacific Northwest to the steam-filled fjords of Norway — this is why SaunaPals exists.
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, surrounded by forests and cold water. But it wasn't until a trip to Norway that I truly understood what sauna culture is all about. Not just the heat — the ritual. The cold plunge. The silence. The way complete strangers sit together and, for a little while, the rest of the world disappears.
I came home wanting more of it. And I quickly realized there was nowhere good to look.
Search results were a mess — gym saunas mixed in with dedicated bathhouses, outdated listings, no way to filter for what actually mattered. I wanted to know: is it walk-in or members only? Does it have a cold plunge? What are today's hours?
So I built the thing I was looking for. SaunaPals is the most complete sauna directory in the US and Canada, organized by the people who actually care about finding a great sauna experience — not just any sauna.
We think about this a lot. Our tier system separates dedicated sauna studios and bathhouses from hotel add-ons and gym locker rooms, so you can find the real thing. We track amenities, hours, pricing, and walk-in access — everything you need to just show up and sweat.
Every listing has been reviewed, and the best ones have been verified against their own websites. We're always adding more.
